Ecological Footprints are aggregate measures of human impact on the global ecology. The measure is reported in units of hectares and refers to the area necessary to provide for the natural resources consumed and waste produced. As diferent countries differ in their ecological productivity, and human management this measure involves data about the ecological productivity and environmental management practices in different regions.
